DNREC Proposing Changes to Delaware State Parks’ Fees; Open Houses Coming Up


DNREC is proposing changes to Delaware State Parks’ entrance, annual, and lifetime pass fees, which have not been updated since 2015, to ensure the parks’ sustainability. You are invited to attend open houses to review the proposed fee schedule, along with visitation, cost, and revenue data, and provide feedback; the Sussex County meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Officers Club in Cape Henlopen State Park. The public will be encouraged to complete a survey on the proposal after attending one of the open houses, or after reviewing the fee increase materials available online after Sept. 30th.

 

The public is invited to attend one of three open houses scheduled for September and October to meet with leaders of the DNREC Division of Parks and Recreation and provide input and feedback on a proposed fee schedule that will be shared in the public sessions.

 

The Sussex County meeting will be held:

 

  • Wednesday, October 1st, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. – Officers Club, Cape Henlopen State Park, 15099 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes, DE, 19958.

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to review State Park visitation, staffing cost, and revenue information, ask questions of staff, and provide input. There will not be a formal presentation at the open houses.
