The University of Delaware received information Tuesday morning about a reported explosive device in a building at the Newark Campus. Gore Hall, Sharp Lab and Mitchell Hall were evacuated and additional support from other nearby law enforcement agencies was called to assist in the investigation. The result of the investigation rendered the report to be unfounded, and the ‘all clear’ was given around 2pm. During their investigation, UD Police learned that multiple institutions regionally and nationally received similar reports of potential safety threats. Threats were also received by email at both Towson University which evacuated the University Union and at Morgan State University at Richardson Library.
