UPDATED: Dewey Beach Paving Project to Begin November 3rd


UPDATED – 10/27/25 – DelDOT will begin paving operations in Dewey Beach on Monday, November 3rd. The work will be done between 8am and 4pm – weather permitting – on side streets off Coastal Highway in the area on King Charles Avenue to Collins Street. Milling and paving operations will have traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should expect intermittent delays. Parking will also be restricted in areas with active paving operations. Work is expected to conclude by the end of the year.

ORIGINAL STORY – 10/15/25 – A paving project that is now nearly a year delayed was begin this month in Dewey Beach, however Town Manager Bill Zolper tells the Talk of Delmarva that this project is now to begin in early to mid-November. DelDOT will begin the repaving of all state-owned streets in Dewey Beach – with the work beginning in the north end and working to the south. This work will include milling, leveling and repaving and when completed the Town will paint all the fire hydrant areas, handicap parking spots and driveway markings.
