SNAP Alert from DHSS on Benefits & Scams

State DHSS officials remind SNAP recipients that the November 2025 benefits will be on hold starting November 1^st because of the government shut down. Exemptions for SNAP work requirements also change on November 1^st. 

DHSS officials also warn of an increase in phishing calls and text scams asking for EBT card numbers and PINs. Do NOT give out your personal information to verify your identity – it is a scam. DHSS and the EBT provider will never contact you and ask for a card number or PIN.
