Chicken House Fire in Rhodesdale, Dorchester County–Result of Arson


Through follow up investigation, Deputy State Fire Marshals have determined that the chicken house fire that occurred on November 4th on Cokesbury Road in Rhodesdale was the result of arson. Investigators have gathered evidence that the blaze that occurred at the 500′ by 40′ chicken house at that location was intentionally set. The 2 alarm fire brought out 60 firefighters from the Eldorado Brookview Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding fire departments to extinguish. It took the firefighters one hour and a half to bring the blaze under control. Officials are asking those who live in the area and may have seen or have residential cameras to view them to see if they have footage of any people or vehicles in the area at the time of the fire, which was at 9:37 p.m. on November 4th. Any little bit of information and additional video footage may assist investigators in determining who was responsible for setting this fire.
