Delaware State Police and Dover Police were called to the State Police Bureau of Identification on South Bay Road for a burglar alarm on Saturday just before 4pm. Police arriving at the scene learned that an unknown male suspect wearing a mask forced entry through the public access door using a steel sewer lid. Inside the building the suspect damaged property and stole money.

Police learned that another building on the same property – the Office of Management and Budget-Fleet Services – had also been broken into in the same manner – by the same suspect. Key fobs were taken and a state-owed Mustang Mach-E taken and driven recklessly through the parking lot where two parked cars were struck.

While canvassing the parking lot area police recovered a bank bag of stolen money that was discarded by the suspect. The Mustang was found abandoned on Carpenter’s Bridge Road and found a man matching the description of the suspect walking on Canterbury Road.
