Governor Moore Announces Appointment of Kathryn Thomson as Acting Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation

Governor Wes Moore has announced the appointment of Kathryn B. “Katie” Thomson as acting secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation. Thomson will assume her post on January 7th. Thomson earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Katie Thomson brings more than 30 years of experience in transportation, aviation, energy, and sustainability law and policy. She most recently served as deputy administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, overseeing a $20 billion budget and operations for more than 45,000 employees.
