Two Georgetown Men Arrested following a Physical Altercation

Two Georgetown men have been arrested following a physical altercation. Police say that on December 30th, shortly before 6 p.m., officers from the Georgetown Police Department were dispatched to the 900 Building of the Georgetown Apartments Complex in reference to a reported firearm-related incident. Officers learned that a dispute occurred at an apartment complex involving three men. During the altercation, two individuals identified as 22-year-old Andre Singletary聽 and 20-year-old聽 Xavier Singletary allegedly displayed two handguns and threatened the victim, who informed officers that both men are his cousins. The victim reported that after being physically forced out of the apartment, another family member arrived to pick him up. At that time, a physical altercation occurred, during which a second adult victim was struck in the mouth by one of the suspects. Officers also determined that a juvenile child, related to one of the suspects, was present inside the residence at the time of the incident. Both Andre and Xavier were taken into custody at the scene. A search warrant was then obtained for the residence, and two handguns were recovered during the execution of the warrant. Andre and Xavier Singletary face several charges. Charges include Aggravated Menacing, Terroristic Threatening, Assault in the Third Degree, Offensive Touching, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They were both released on over $6,000 unsecured bond.

Andre Singletary and Xavier Singletary were processed and arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court. Andre Singletary was released on a $6,100 unsecured bond, and Xavier Singletary was released on a $6,600 unsecured bond. Both defendants were ordered to have no contact with the adult victims and no unlawful contact with the juvenile victim.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
