Firefighters were called for a pole barn fire just before 2 Monday morning in Dorchester County. Eldorado Volunteer Firefighters arrived at the Galestown-Reliance Road address in Rhodesdale and found fire in a 30-foot by 50-foot pole barn with metal siding.

Maryland State Fire Marshal officials say firefighters from several companies – including Bridgeville and Seaford – were on the scene for over 2 hours – a pet dog died in the fire.

Investigators say the fire began in a space between the roof and the interior ceiling – and the fire was accidental – and electrical in nature.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.
