Laurel PD Arrest Haitian Man for Sexual Assault of a Child

Laurel Police have arrested a Haitian man after a reported sexual assault of a 7-year old female in December. The investigation led detectives to determine the assault occurred at the victim’s home and 40 year old Ricardo Desir of Haiti was identified as the suspect.
Desir was arrested at his home on Friday and charged with 2nd degree rape with a victim less than 12 years of age (Class B Felony).
He is being held at SCI in default of a $60,000 cash bail.
