Ring will also donate $25,000 to DCADV to help support the organization’s mission and ongoing impact across Delaware.
“This kind of partnership highlights the role that we can all play in keeping Delawareans safe,” said Attorney General Kathy Jennings. “I am deeply grateful to both Ring (Amazon) for their generous donation and to DCADV for their tireless efforts to make our state a better place.”
The Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a statewide, nonprofit organization and coalition of organizations, groups and individuals that strive to promote conditions that prevent and eliminate domestic violence by educating its members and community partners; providing informational resources to the community; and advocating as a strong, unified voice for victims/survivors of domestic violence, children who are affected, domestic violence programs and victim service providers.
“The Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCADV) is so grateful to Amazon for their generous donation of Ring cameras and their donation to the Coalition,” said DCADV Executive Director Sue Ryan. “These cameras will be distributed to domestic violence service providers, including Peoples Place, CHILD Inc., the YWCA Delaware, and Community Legal Aid Society Inc.(CLASI) for victims of domestic violence. These Ring cameras provide added security and safety for victims of domestic violence. DCADV appreciates Amazon’s partnership and their commitment to fostering community safety.”
“At Ring, we believe in making neighborhoods safer and making technology accessible to everyone,” said Raquel Medrano, Amazon Public Policy. “Since 2021, we’ve supported organizations that support domestic violence survivors with technology and tools that help provide an extra layer of peace of mind. We are proud to team up with DCADV and learn alongside them to ensure that Amazon technology continues to support the needs of survivors. We hope this donation will help support community safety throughout Delaware.”
The Ring devices will be distributed through DCADV-partnered domestic violence service providers, including Peoples Place, CHILD Inc., the YWCA Delaware, and Community Legal Aid Society Inc. (CLASI). Each camera package will include a QR code linked to the National Network to End Domestic Violence’s Safety Net project, which provides information on best practices for using cameras to enhance safety.
To date, Ring has donated over 35,000 Ring Video Doorbells and Outdoor Cams to over 800 nonprofit organizations across the country and federally recognized tribal organizations whose primary mission is to support domestic violence survivors. Organizations provide these devices to survivors who are interested in using them as a part of their safety planning.
