UPDATE: Victim Identified; Selbyville Man Charged in Murder of Family Member

UPDATE– 02/04/26: Delaware State Police have identified 71-year-old Liudmyla Levchenkoof Selbyville, Delaware, as the woman who was killed by her son-in-law on Monday in Selbyville.

A Selbyville area man has been arrested for the murder of a family member in Selbyville. Delaware State Police were called to a home on Pinto Drive east of Selbyville Monday morning around 8:30 – where a 71 year old female was found deceased in a ditch behind the property.

Police say a family member after a phone conversation with 28 year old Jesus Palacio-Hernandez was unable to locate the victim. Palacio-Hernandez was located in the Selbyville area and arrested following a traffic stop.

Preliminary investigation shows that during the overnight hours, Palacio-Hernandez had an altercation with the victim in the residence. He assaulted her – and moved her body to a ditch where she was found.

Palacio-Hernandez is charged with 1st degree murder and is being held at SCI in default of a $1-million cash bond.
