Ocean City Councilman Tony DeLuca has announced his resignation from the Council on Sunday – effective immediately. DeLuca has served on the City Council since November of 2014, however he says that family must come first.

This comes after a special meeting of the council a week ago after concerns regarding his residency were brought – however no action was taken during that meeting for lack of a second to a motion for him to oust him from the Council.

A special election will be held to fill the vacancy. Details on filing requirements, election dates and voting procedures will be announced in coming days.
