Lincoln Man Charged after Threatening Co-Worker

A Lincoln man has been arrested by Delaware State Police after he threatened a co-worker in Georgetown. Police responded to Donovan’s Salvage works Sunday morning just before 10 where they learned that the suspect, 44 year old Jose Sanchez of Lincoln was arguing with a co-worker, then threatened to leave and return with a gun to kill the co-worker.

Police spoke to Sanchez by phone and learned his vehicle broke down on Route 404 in Georgetown. Troopers located Sanchez who showed multiple signs of impairment and refused standardized field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and an inventory search of his vehicle turned up a sword under clothing on the front seat.

A computer check showed Sanchez with 4 prior DUI convictions and a revoked driver’s license.

Sanchez was arrested and taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below:聽

  • 5th Offense DUI (Felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Driving While Suspended or Revoked
  • Driving and Unsafe Motor Vehicle

Sanchez was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,700 secured bond.
