MSP Investigate Fatal Crash in Caroline County
Maryland State Police were called for a crash on Route 480 north of Eveland Road in Caroline County just before 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. Police found an Isuzu box truck crossed the center line and police believe the driver of the Kia tried to avoid a head on crash and went off the shoulder of the road where the crash occurred. Both vehicles were off the roadway.
The driver of the Kia, 30 year old Joseph Dsouza of Ridgely was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Kia was taken to a local trauma center and the driver of the box truck was also taken to a local hospital.
The investigation into the crash is continuing ā the cause has not been determined, but impairment may have been a contributing circumstance and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
