Guidelines for Bethany Beach Residents in Storm Debris Cleanup

The Town of Bethany Beach will begin collecting tree debris from last weekend’s storm this week – and will continue through March 27th. Homeowners are responsible for debris located on their property – Town crews are not able to enter private property. The Town has some guidelines for residents to follow to aid in the cleanup of the storm debris.
To help our crews work efficiently, please prepare debris as follows:
- Cut tree debris into sections no longer than 5 feet.
- Tie smaller limbs into bundles no more than 3 feet in diameter.
- Bundles must be small and light enough for one person to handle.
- Limbs may not exceed 4 inches in diameter.
- Place all debris at the curb near your trash cans.
