One Dead, Two Injured After Motor Vehicle Collision in Ocean City, Maryland


An Ocean View, Delaware man is dead after a two-vehicle collision last night (Wednesday, March 4th) in Ocean City, Maryland. The Ocean City Police Department responded to the area of 122nd Street and Coastal Highway at approximately 10:05 PM.聽 Good Samaritans at the scene initiated lifesaving efforts. Ocean City EMS continued those efforts. The victim, who is 78 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel. EMS transported two additional individuals to TidalHealth with non-life-threatening injuries. Ocean City Police tell the Talk of Delmarva that the collision spanned several northbound and southbound lanes of Coastal Highway, resulting in multiple lane closures and the establishment of a traffic pattern. Northbound Coastal Highway was reduced to one lane for approximately three hours. Southbound traffic at 123rd Street remained closed for approximately six hours while the Traffic Safety Unit conducted a thorough investigation. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
