Garage Fire in Marydel Under Investigation

Firefighters in Marydel were called for a garage fire Friday afternoon just before 4pm. Crews arriving at the scene found a detached, one story garage on fire on Stafford Road.

Officials say the residents were at home at the time of the fire and called 911. Several neighboring fire companies were called for assistance or backup.

Maryland State Fire Marshal investigators say the fire began inside the structure – the cause is under investigation.

Firefighters were on the scene for about 2 hours and damage is estimated at $260,000.
