Former Wicomico County Board of Education Employee Faces Additional Charges in Ongoing Child Sex Abuse Investigation
A former employee of the Wicomico County Board of Education is facing additional charges in an ongoing child sex abuse investigation. Russell Lee Camper Jr. was initially charged following an investigation that began March 12th, which found the alleged abuse occurred several years prior to being reported. He was arrested March 13th without incident and is being held without bond at the Wicomico County Detention Center. Camper now faces charges including second-degree rape, sexual abuse of a minor, nine counts of third- and fourth-degree sexual offenses, and nine counts of second-degree assault. Authorities say additional potential victims have been identified as the investigation continues. Camper was employed with the school system for 23 years and worked at several schools, including Salisbury Middle, Parkside High, Wicomico High, North Salisbury Elementary, and Pinehurst Elementary. Investigators believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information or who believes they may be a victim is urged to contact the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center.
