National Gas Price Average Drops Bringing Relief to Drivers
Drivers are getting a bit of relief at the pump as the national average went down by 6 cents since last week to $4.03. Crude oil prices have come down below $100/barrel, helping drive down the cost of gasoline for consumers. But how long the downward trend will last is uncertain with continued instability along the Strait of Hormuz. According to AAA, currently, pump prices are the highest they’ve been during this time of year since 2022, when the national average on April 23 was $4.11. The Delaware gas price average is $3.87 today, down 8 cents in the last week and 77 cents higher than one year ago. The South Jersey gas price average is $3.87 today, down 8 cents in the last week and up 94 cents compared to one year ago. The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station stayed the same this past week at 40 cents.

The Weekend
“Pennsylvania drivers are finally seeing some stability at the pump, with the state average remaining virtually unchanged for the past week,” said Jana Tidwell, spokesperson for AAA Club Alliance. “That stability comes as crude oil prices continue to trend downward, helping to ease some of the pressure on fuel costs. While this is a positive shift, motorists should keep in mind that prices can change quickly depending on market conditions.”
