Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unneeded, unused or expired prescription drugs. The day also helps to educate the public about the potential for abuse of medications. Take back drugs between 10am and 2pm at a variety of locations ā including –

If you miss Saturday’s take back day ā there are several year round drop off sites ā including the Walmarts in Georgetown, Seaford, Milford and Rehoboth Beach.Ā Ā
Last October’s Prescription Drug Take Back Day included 4317 collection sites and over 4200 law enforcement agencies taking part nationwide. 286 tons of drugs were collected in April and October of 2025 – bringing the total weight of drugs collected since 2016 to 10,196 tons. Delaware’s all time collection after the 29th National Take Back Day last October weighs in at 137,036 pounds – and Maryland at 286,274 pounds.
