Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 04/25/26
Friday, we had almost perfect fishing weather. I went to Indian River Inlet to catch the incoming current and the ocean looked like a big lake. I saw several private boats head out to take advantage of the beautiful conditions.
I set myself up on the southside sitting on the bench dedicated to Harry and Dot Aiken. From this vantage point I could observe most of the Inlet and see if anyone was catching fish or if seagulls were working over a particular area. The two men fishing directly in front of me were fishing for tog with sand fleas and casting small metal lures for either blues or shad. They didn鈥檛 catch anything.
I finally moved to the north side, just west of the bridge, and was able to hook a shad, but he came off just as I was about to lift him from the water.
