204 Fallen Firefighters Will be Added to the National Memorial in Emmitsburg, MD This Weekend

This weekend 204 fallen firefighters will be added to the Roll of Honor at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. This is the 45th National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. Of the 204 names, 97 are firefighters who died in 2025 – the rest are being added from previous years.
Saturday night there is a Candlelight Service at 7:30pm. The Memorial Service is Sunday morning at 10am. Both public ceremonies will be live streamed.
Delaware will honor one firefighter – Firefighter M. Dean Peoples from the Roxana Fire Company who died in 2021.
Maryland will honor seven firefighters:
- Chief Neil Payne – Stockton VFC (died 2022)
- Lt Mark Dranbauer, Jr – Baltimore City FD (died 2025)
- Battalion Chief Lawrence Goldberg – Baltimore City FD (died 2019)
- Lt. Christopher Higgins – Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (died 2025)
- Fire Technician Jesse Wade McCullough – Prince Georges County Fire/EMS (died 2018)
- Emergency Vehicle Driver Charles Mudra – Baltimore City FD (died 2025)
- Captain Keith Phillips – Winfield Community VFD (died 2021)
