Fatal Pedestrian Crash Under Investigation in Pocomoke City

Authorities in Worcester County are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that occurred Tuesday afternoon, May 12th on Ocean Highway in Pocomoke City. Shortly before 2 PM, Worcester County Emergency Services received a 911 call reporting the crash. Bystanders initiated life-saving measures until EMS personnel arrived on the scene. Despite continued resuscitation efforts by EMS, the pedestrian died of her injuries. The pedestrian has been identified as Sandra Mattingly of Pocomoke City, Maryland. The vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene, and the operator is cooperating with the investigation. At this time, there is no indication of impairment or any violations of the Maryland Transportation Article by the driver.
