Firefighters Battle Tuesday Morning Blaze on Bellevue Street in Dewey Beach

Rehoboth Beach Firefighters battled a blaze in a 3-story townhouse on Bellevue Street Tuesday morning in Dewey Beach.  Firefighter were called around at around 8:30am.  Firefighters arriving at the scene found smoke and flames coming from the 3rd floor and roof line of the unit.   All occupants were out of the building.  

Due to the heat, several mutual aid companies assisted including Lewes Fire Department, Bethany Beach Fire Company, Indian River Fire Company, Millville Fire Company, Milton Fire Department and Sussex County EMS.  

No injuries were reported and firefighters were on the scene for about 2 1/2 hours.  The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
