A Pocomoke woman has been sentenced for theft and insurance fraud in Wicomico County. Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court of Wicomico County, S. James Sarbanes sentenced 32 year old Taylor Clark to 20 years – suspending all but 3 years for theft over $100,000 and 2 years consecutive for insurance fraud. Clark will serve five years and upon release be placed on 5 years of supervised probation with special conditions – including paying full restitution to the victims.

Court records show Clark was hired by the victim as a Business Manager in November of 2024 – in December of 2024 she began making unauthorized purchases, cash withdrawals, cash deposit thefts and unauthorized additions to her pay. The theft scene was discovered in September of 2025 after she stole over $191,000 from her employer. She also submitted a fraudulent letter to her employer-sponsored insurance company to add a significant other as a beneficiary to her health insurance policy.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes said, “When an employee abuses their authority to systematically steal from an employer, they don’t just take money from that business, they fracture the trust that holds our community together. This plea reflects the severity of that betrayal and sends a clear message that white-collar theft will be aggressively prosecuted in Wicomico County.”
