Early Voting Begins in Maryland Gubernatorial Primary Election on Thursday


The Maryland Gubernatorial Primary Election takes place on Tuesday, June 23.  In all counties, there are other elections besides the Governor’s race, but those ballots will differ by county.  Voters have three options for voting in the Maryland Gubernatorial Primary Election – Early voting – in person, Vote by Mail or Vote in person on Election Day

If you opt to request a mail-in ballot – the deadline to have a ballot mailed to you is Tuesday, June 16.  Friday, June 19th is the deadline to download and print your ballot.  

Note: If you are registered to vote as unaffiliated or affiliated with another party that is not the Democratic or Republican Parties, you will only be able to vote in any nonpartisan primary elections held in your jurisdiction, such as a primary election to select nominees for the board of education.

VOTE IN PERSON
To vote in person, Marylanders can vote during early voting or on election day from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm. The best time to vote in person is on weekends during early voting and between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on election day.

  • EARLY VOTING – IN PERSON – June 11 – June 18, 2026
    If you prefer to vote in person, for the Gubernatorial Primary Election, early voting centers will be open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm, including Saturday and Sunday. You may vote early at any early voting center in your county of residence.**  (SEE BELOW FOR INFORMATION BY COUNTY)

 

  • VOTE ON ELECTION DAY – IN PERSON – June 23, 2026
    Election day polling places will be open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm on June 23, 2026. Election day voting will be held at your assigned polling place.

VOTE BY MAIL
To vote by mail, you must request a mail-in ballot from the State Board of Elections or your local board of elections.

Mail-in ballots must be postmarked or placed in a designated ballot drop box by 8:00 pm on June 23, 2026.
