State Police Arrest Marydel Man Following a Pursuit in Kent County

A pursuit a week ago in Kent County has resulted in the arrest of a Marydel, Maryland, man on charges of reckless endangering and felony gun offenses. Just before 7pm on June 5th, Delaware State Police observed a Mitsubishi with a registration violation and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped off. During the pursuit the driver of the Mitsubishi drove recklessly and at high rates of speed before colliding with a Dodge Ram on Mahan Corner Road.
The driver of the pickup, a 54-year-old woman from Marydel, Delaware, suffered minor injuries but refused transport to the hospital. The driver of the Mitsubishi, 40 year old Gary Graham of Marydel, MD, was hospitalized for injuries he received in the crash.
A search of his car turned up a 3-D printed lower handgun receiver, digital scale and drug paraphernalia.
Graham was released from the hospital on June 8th and taken to Troop 3. He was charged with the offenses listed below:
- Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Possess, Purchase, Own, or Control of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Prior Violent Crime or Felony (Felony)
- Possession of an Untraceable Firearm (Felony)
- Possess, Purchase, Own, or Control a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited – Prior Violent Crime or Felony (Felony)
- Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal (Felony)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 2 counts
- Driving without a Valid License
- Failure to have Required Insurance
- Operation of an Unregistered Vehicle
- Fictitious or Canceled Registration
- Multiple Traffic Offenses
Graham was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $81,070 cash bond.
