Repair of Ocean View Post Office Now a Rebuild – More Delays

Senator Gerald Hocker and Representative Ron Gray learned Friday that the Ocean View Post Office now will undergo a rebuild rather than a repair. The rebuild will begin in the spring of 2027 – with completion expected in the fall. Initially the Sussex County lawmakers were told by US Senator Chris Coons that the rehab was to begin in early June – now with the month nearly over – this latest update pushes the reopening of the Ocean View Post Office back by over a year.

Senator Hocker and Representative Gray have offered suggestions and short-term solutions, but feel that if a rebuild is now needed – it should begin immediately.

The Ocean View Post Office was closed suddenly on September 27 of 2025!
