Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 07/02/26

The heat arrived right on schedule. Some used the heat as an excuse to stay off the water. Fishermen however, went out and caught fish.

Dan at Dan’s Tackle had nothing to report as all of his customers said it was too hot to fish.

Lewes Harbour Marina saw triggerfish come in from the Outer Wall caught on sand fleas or green crabs. Flounder and croaker were caught out of the Lewes and Rehoboth canal.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said sheepshead were caught off the pilings on sand fleas or green crabs.

Old Inlet had reports of sheepshead and triggerfish caught close to the rocks at the Inlet. Kings, croaker and spot have been caught from the beach.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said one boat had two bluefin and some tilefish.
