Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 07/0726
Monday saw a little rain in the morning and that did more to discourage local anglers than 104-degree heat.
Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said the rain cut down on the number of fishermen on the pier, but those who showed up caught spot on Fishbites and sheepshead on sand fleas or green crabs.
Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us a 39-inch striped bass was caught and released overnight out of Indian River Inlet. Blues were taken early in the morning on metal lures. Tog and sheepshead were taken during the day on sand fleas and green crab. The surf saw spot, croaker and kings caught on Fishbites and bloodworms.
Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em reported a private boat returned from the canyons with a big catch of tilefish.
