OHS Releases DUI Checkpoint Results, Reinforces Ongoing Efforts to Reduce Impaired Driving
The Delaware Office of Highway Safety (OHS) has announced the results of a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Checkpoint held on Friday, July 10th in Sussex County. The chekpoint was conducted in partnership with the Delaware State police and local law enforcement agencies across the state. A total of 983 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, resulting in four DUI arrests. Delaware OHS officials say while law enforcement remains committed to identifying and removing impaired drivers from Delaware roadways, the checkpoint results also reflect the importance of education, enforcement, and personal responsibility. More Delawareans are planning ahead by choosing designated drivers, using ride-share services, or making other arrangements to get home safely after consuming alcohol. The Delaware Office of Highway Safety thanks the State Police and participating local law enforcement agencies for their continued commitment to impaired driving enforcement.
