Pittsville Man Sentenced To Maximum Penalty Of 35 Years For Sexual Abuse Of A Minor And Second-Degree Assault

A 51-year-old Pittsville, Maryland man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after being convicted following a three-day jury trial, of Sexual Abuse of a Minor and Assault in the Second Degree. On July 17th, the Honorable Karen M. Dean, Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, imposed the sentence, which was the maximum penalty allowed by law. Should Oliver Kennedy be released from prison, he will be under lifetime sexual offender supervision and will be required to register as a Tier 111 sexual offender. According to the Office of the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County, between 2018 and 2023, Kennedy sexually abused a minor in his household. The victim was under the age of 12 at the time.
