The White Marlin Open finished on Saturday with Bill Sharpe taking the top prize on board the Mister Pete with an 80-pound white marlin worth 3.5 million dollars. Kelly Webber fishing on the Max Bet had the largest and only blue marlin weighing 609 pounds and worth 1.2 million dollars.
Lewes Harbour Marina said the Pirate King and the Angler brought in croaker and spot from bay structure. Boats that ran out to ocean structure found flounder and sea bass. Those that fished the Outer Wall and the Ice Breakers with sand fleas and green crabs caught sheepshead and triggerfish.
Old Inlet told us the night shift at the jetties caught and released striped bass on plugs, live eels and bucktails. Blues are available near the bridge early in the morning on bucktails or metal lures.
