Accidental Fire at Easton High School Classroom This Morning

A fire occurred Just before 7:00 this morning in a classroom at Easton High School on Mecklenburg Avenue in Easton– Talbot County, Maryland. According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, custodian staff were in the process of moving items out of the classroom and placed electronic equipment on the stove top, inadvertently activating a stop top burner. Moments later, the fire alarm activated and alerted staff to a small fire on the stove top in the classroom. One sprinkler head activated and suppressed the fire. 58 firefighters responded to battle the blaze, which took 1 hour and 36 minutes to control. All fire damage was contained to that one classroom. No one was injured.
