December 31, 2025/
Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced a settlement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the Trump administration requiring the agency to resume reviews of delayed National Institutes of Health medical and public health research grant applications. The agreement resolves a lawsuit filed in April by Brown and a coalition of attorneys general, which challenged delays in the NIH grant review process. Attorney General Brown said the settlement provides clarity for researchers and institutions awaiting decisions on pending grant applications.聽Joining Attorney General Brown in reaching this settlement include attorneys general of Delaware, New Jersey, and 14 other attorneys general.
