December 18, 2025/
Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings announced that a federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from imposing fines on states over SNAP program operations. The ruling allows SNAP benefits to continue for lawful permanent residents, including former refugees and asylees, while the case continues. Jennings said the court order ensures Delawareans can continue receiving food assistance without interruption. Attorney General Jennings had joined a coalition of 21 attorneys general in suing the Trump administration over what they claimed was a threat to impose fines on states regarding SNAP benefits for lawful permanent residents, which were later confirmed as eligible. Attorney General Jennings noted that her office has sued the administration over 40 times this year and vowed to continue challenging actions that affect her constituents.
