Beat the Peak Alerts Issued During Today’s Extreme Heat

Delaware Electric Cooperative has issued another Beat the Peak alert for today from 4–6 p.m. Choptank Electric Cooperative’s Beat the Peak period is from 3 to 6 PM today. Reducing your electricity use during these peak hours can help lower wholesale power costs, which helps keep electric rates more affordable. DEC encourages members to take simple steps like raising the thermostat a few degrees or waiting until after 6 PM to use large appliances, which can make a difference.
