Berlin Man Arrested for Sexual Solicitation of a Minor & Distribution of Child Porn

A Berlin man has been arrested on charges that he solicited sex from a minor over a smartphone app in Worcester County. Maryland State Police have charged 29 year old Alexander Crum of Berlin with the following:
- Sexual solicitation of a minor
- Solicitation of child pornography
- Distribution of child pornography
- Knowingly permitting sexual solicitation of a minor
- Contributing to the condition of a child
On Wednesday Police, following an investigation from a Cyber Tipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, went to Crum’s place of employment in Berlin where he was taken into custody. The investigation involved financial transactions linked to child sex abuse material.
A search warrant was executed at Crum’s residence where multiple electronic devices were seized for forensic analysis.
Crum is being held at the Worcester County Detention Center without bond. This investigation is active and ongoing.
