Berlin Man Convicted of Home Improvment Fraud

A Berlin man has been convicted of obtaining property by deception of a vulnerable adult and 3 counts of failing to perform a contract. Complaints from residents in Ocean Pines led to the arrest of 47 year old Pasco “Patrick” Allen of Berlin after he was hired and paid to do landscaping and home improvement work, but failed to complete the work. It was also found that Allen was not licensed through the Maryland Home Improvement Commission as required by law. Sentencing has been deferred so that Allen can pay restitution to the victims – he faces 2 ½ years in prison.
