Bethany Beach Police Arrest 2 after Drug Investigation


An investigation in the use of illegal drugs in a residence in Bethany Beach led to the arrest of two people on Thursday. Bethany Beach Police with assistance of the Governor Task Force executed a search warrant at a home on Garfield Parkway and found 47 year old William Lewis and 45 year old Amy Oliver. A search of the residence, property and Lewis and Oliver turned up the following items:

  • Digital scale聽
  • Microwave with crack cocaine residue聽
  • Several containers with white powdery residue聽
  • Drug paraphernalia聽
  • Unsecured firearms

Police arrested both Lewis and Oliver who are charged with multiple offenses.聽

Lewis was arrested and charged with the crimes listed below:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony X2聽
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony聽
  • Unlawful to Knowingly Operate a Clandestine Laboratory聽
  • Maintaining a Drug Property聽
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree聽
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child By Committing a Title 16 Offense With Child in the Dwelling X3聽
  • Unlawfully Dealing With a Child Permits <18 to Remain in Place Where Sex or Narcotics or Dangerous Drug Activity X3聽 聽
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Lewis was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $69,800.00 cash bond.
Oliver was arrested and charged with the crimes listed below:聽 聽

  • Possess/Purchase/Own/Control a Firearm by Persons Prohibited聽

  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child By Committing a Title 16 Offense With Child in the Dwelling X3聽
  • Unlawfully Dealing With a Child Permits <18 to Remain in Place Where Sex or Narcotics or Dangerous Drug Activity X3聽 聽
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Oliver was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $33,300.00 cash bond.
