UPDATED: Two-Vehicle Collision Reported in Lewes
UPDATE 7/17/25: 6:30 p.m.
According to Delaware State Police, just before 1 p.m., an Infiniti QX60 was traveling southbound on Coastal Highway approaching Janice Road. At the same time, a Subaru Forester was traveling westbound, from the crossover, attempting to cross Coastal Highway southbound for Janice Road. Police learned the Subaru entered the Infiniti’s path of travel and as a result, the front of the Infiniti struck the passenger’s side of the Subaru. The driver of the Subaru, a 79-year-old woman from Lewes, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was cited for inattentive driving. The driver of the Infiniti, a 60-year-old woman from Lutherville, Maryland, was not hurt.

Both lanes are now open after a crash occurred early this afternoon in the area of Janice Road and Coastal Highway in Lewes. Traffic had been temporarily halted as the scene was cleared. Reportedly, the collision involved two cars. The Talk of Delmarva will have more details as further information becomes available.
