Bridgeville Man Arrested for Felony Firearms Offenses
The Delaware State Police have arrested a 55-year-old Bridgeville man for felony firearms offenses, following an investigation of him possessing firearms as a person prohibited. According to State Police, on November 6th members of the Delaware State Police Firearms Transaction and Purchasing Unit and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, investigated a residence on Silent Hill Road in Bridgeville. Detectives found Richard Banks to be in possession of a concealed handgun while trespassing on an adjacent property. A consent search of the residence also led to the discovery of several other handguns, shotguns, and rifles. He was taken into custody without incident. Banks, who is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, was arrested and taken to Troop 4. He faces several firearm charges. Banks was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and is now at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $86,001 secured bond.
