Cambridge Police Mourn Captain Who Died on Duty

The Cambridge police department has announced the line-of-duty death of Captain Ronald “Shane” Hinson. In a release, officials announced that Captain Hinson died Monday and was on duty at the time of his passing. Captain Hinson served the City of Cambridge for over 27 years.

It is with profound sadness that the Cambridge Police Department announces the passing of Captain Ronald “Shane” Hinson who died on today’s date. Captain Hinson served the City of Cambridge with dedication, integrity, and compassion for over twenty-seven years and was on duty at the time of his passing.Captain Hinson was more than a colleague-he was a friend, mentor, and valued member of our law enforcement family. His commitment to public service and the safety of our residents will never be forgotten.
