Cape Henlopen School District will help enable a student walkout on March 14th. High school students across the country are planning a National Walk out Day next Wednesday in solidarity of the 17 students killed in a school shooting in Florida, and to bring awareness to school safety issues.
Yesterday, Cape Henlopen Superintendent Bob Fulton sent a letter home to parents saying a walk out was being planned at the high school, and administration was working to provide a safe environment for the walkout and minimize disruption to students who wish to remain in class. However, Fulton says the District is not endorsing the walkout, rather only interested in providing a structured environment for all students. There are no planned walkouts at other schools in the district.
