Learn about Tharros Village – a transformative new initiative designed to support the Cape Region’s homeless and unhoused neighbors, which is proposed for the former home of Troop 7 on Coastal Highway in Lewes. You’re invited to a community information night on Thursday, May 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Lewes Public Library to find out more about Tharros Village and what you can do to play a role in building a stronger more compassionate community.

A conditional use application No. 2583 has been unanimously approved by the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission (during their May 7, 2025 meeting). This village would be in operation from March 1st through November 30 with no more than 28 tents at any one time.

The Talk of Delmarva’s Mike Bradley will talk with Mike Agnew with the Code Purple Tharros Village Tuesday morning at 8:07
