UPDATED: Crash Closes Route 24 Near Angola Overnight

A vehicle crash in the Angola area shut down Route 24 early this morning. Crews from Indian River Volunteer Fire Company were called after a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole near the entrance to the Brandywood development, causing the pole to break and fall into the roadway. Electric power was impacted in the area for a time. DelDOT Traffic Management tells WGMD the roadway remains closed while the utility pole is replaced.
