Crash Involving School Bus and Garbage Truck in Georgetown Area


Here’s an update on the聽 crash that occurred early this morning involving a school bus. Delaware State Police tell the Talk of Delmarva that about 7:18 am, a school bus was traveling southbound on East Piney Grove Road near Governor Stockley Road. At the same time, a Mack garbage truck was traveling northbound on East Piney Grove Road near Governor Stockley Road. Both vehicle鈥檚 driver鈥檚 side mirrors hit as the vehicles passed each other on East Piney Grove Road.聽The driver of the bus, a 40-year-old woman from Georgetown, was injured by debris, but refused transport to the hospital. No children on the bus were injured. The driver of the Mack, a 38-year-old man from Millsboro, was not injured.

There are reports of a motor vehicle crash that occurred early this morning involving a school bus in the area of E. Piney Grove Road in the Georgetown area. A trash truck reportedly hit the school bus leaving the driver injured. 11 children were on this bus with a total of 13 occupants, according to Eastern Shore Undercover.
