DE Courts Judicial Emergency Extended to June 2; Jury Trials to Resume in June

Delaware Chief Justice Collins Seitz has extended the Judicial Emergency to June 2nd. Phase 2 will be lifted on June 1 for Phase 3, which will allow the resumption of jury trials. Some other pandemic-related restrictions will also be eased. Court staff will begin to prepare as well with sending out jury summonses and working out the calendars with the Department of Justice and defense attorneys as well as coordinating with Department of Corrections to resume the transfer of those who are incarcerated to the courthouses for proceedings.
