DE Joint Finance Committee Budget Hearings for Tuesday & Wednesday Rescheduled
February 23, 2026/
Due to inclement weather conditions throughout the state, the Joint Finance Committee’s Tuesday, February 24 and Wednesday, February 25 budget request hearings have been postponed.
As a result, the February 24 hearing has been moved to Monday, March 2, while the February 25 hearing has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 3.
The upcoming Joint Finance Committee hearings will proceed as follows:
Thursday, February 26
- 10 a.m. – Orientation for Fire Prevention Commission, Department of Transportation, and Department of Health and Social Services
- 11 a.m. – Fire Prevention Commission
- 12:30 p.m. – Department of Transportation
Monday, March 2
- 9 a.m. – Remarks from Department of Health and Social Services Secretary Christen Linke Young and Department-wide presentations
- 12:30 p.m. – Questions from Joint Finance Committee members and public comment
Tuesday, March 3
- 10 a.m. – Orientation
- 10:30 a.m. – Department of Education presentation with Wilmington Learning Collaborative and Redding Consortium
- 12 p.m. – Break
- 12:30 p.m. – Department of Education discussion and public comment
